How teachers and students can use and create/assign Hall Passes.

How Minga Hall Passes Work in the Classroom
Here is a simple workflow for uninterrupted classes:
- Ask Permission - Student asks the teacher's permission to go to the bathroom or for a drink of water. (This represents 90-95% of typical hall pass usage)
- Approval - Teacher responds with "yes, go ahead and create your Hall Pass" or "no" and the process is over
- Create Pass - Student creates their own 5 min hall pass on their mobile device or school approved device (Chromebook...) and shows it to the teacher to confirm
- Use Pass - Student can depart with or without their device. Staff who request to see pass may view on the student's or their own device
How Students Create Their Own Hall Passes
When a student has been given verbal permission to use a Hall Pass to leave the classroom, they can create their own Hall Pass.
The passes that are permitted for student creation will be available for students to create a hall pass with the default time limit you have set.
The pass will be visible on the student's Digital ID with a countdown timer

- Open the Minga app or visit app.minga.io
- Click My Tools
- Choose Create a Hall Pass
- Select Hall Pass
- Assign the teacher who gave verbal permission to the hall pass
- Hit Create Hall Pass
How Teachers Assign Hall Passes
When a teacher would like to grant a Hall Pass for any reason, the steps are simple!

- Open the Minga app or visit app.minga.io
- Click My Tools then Assign Hall Pass
- Select Hall Pass, Pass Duration add notes and click Next
- Choose Scan an ID or Search User
- Or filter by group, user list or role and click "Apply Filters"
- Select and click Assign
Please note - If you know that a certain student(s) will need a Hall Pass issued for a specific date and time, you can schedule one to kick in automatically.
