FlexTime Enhancements- Student Self Check-in, Tardy Check-in, and FlexTime Restrictions

New Features and Enhancements 

No Registration List Restriction

  • What’s New: Students listed on the "No Registration List" are now restricted from registering for any FlexTime activities.

  • Why It Matters: This ensures that students who are not eligible for FlexTime activities cannot register, maintaining the integrity of the system.

No Party Groups Restriction

  • What’s New: Students in "No Party Groups" are now blocked from registering for the same FlexTime activity.

  • Why It Matters: This feature prevents students in restricted groups from being assigned to the same activities, enhancing group management.

QR Code Check-In for FlexTime

  • What’s New: Students can now self-check-in to FlexTime activities by scanning a QR code.

  • Why It Matters: This simplifies the check-in process, allowing for faster attendance tracking and reducing manual effort.

Notes for FlexTime Check-In

  • What’s New: Additional context can now be added when checking in students for FlexTime activities.

FlexTime Check-In Time Restrictions

  • What’s New: Check-ins will only be allowed during the designated FlexTime session, blocking early or late check-ins.

FlexTime Tardy Check-In

  • What’s New: Students arriving late to FlexTime sessions will now be marked as tardy.

Improvements & Restrictions

  • FlexTime Check-In Time Restrictions

    • Check-ins are now restricted to only occur during the designated FlexTime period. Check-ins will not be allowed before or after the session begins.

    • Benefit: Ensures more accurate attendance tracking and prevents any discrepancies in the records.

  • FlexTime Tardy Check-In

    • Students who arrive late for FlexTime sessions will now be marked as tardy.

    • Benefit: Helps with timely interventions to support student accountability and manage tardiness.


FAQ:

FlexTime - Restrictions

Can I use the same no party group for both Hall Pass and FlexTime?

  • Yes! The No Party Group is shared between Hall Pass and FlexTime. You can deactivate it in one module and still keep it active in the other.

What happens if I delete a no party group?

  • If you delete a No Party Group, it will be deleted from both Hall Pass and FlexTime. To use it in only one module, you can use the deactivate functionality instead of deleting it.


FlexTime - Check-In

Where can I view the notes added to FlexTime Check-Ins?

  • Administrators can access the notes in the “FlexTime History Report” under the “Note” column.

Who can modify the number of points assigned during FlexTime Check-Ins?

  • Only users with the appropriate permissions—such as teachers who own the activity template or administrators—can modify the number of points assigned during FlexTime Check-In.

Will the QR code for FlexTime self-check-in update for each new activity?

  • QR codes are tied to the activity template and are unique to each activity. However, the same QR code will remain the same across different sessions of the same activity.

If the “Restrict check-in times” setting is ON, will it prevent students from ever checking in?

  • No, if this setting is ON, it will only block students from checking in 10 minutes before or after the start time of the activity.

What behavior will be assigned to students if they check in as tardy for their FlexTime activities?

  • Administrators can select which behavior, if any, to assign to the student when they check in as tardy. This can be configured by navigating to the FlexTime settings page.
