Minga has introduced some great new features specifically for Teachers, just in time for the new school year. This article rounds up everything that's landed so far in 2026 that affects your workflow in My Class, Hall Passes, FlexTime, and Positive/Negative Behavior management.

Community & Event Management
Minga Calendar
You now have a single calendar view for everything happening at school: your classes, any FlexTime sessions you're running, and school events you're attending, all in one place inside Minga.
The Calendar page replaces the old Events page.
For a deeper dive, check out the Create and Promote School Events in Minga article.
👌 Good to Know: If your school has Bell Schedule configured, your class periods show up on the calendar automatically. Schools on the Basic plan see events and FlexTime only.
Hallway Management & Digital ID
Hall Pass history at a glance
Your hall pass activity view in My Class shows a student's daily hall pass history at a glance, without digging into a separate report.
Refer to the Student Information at a Glance section of the Teachers' Guide to MyClass for an in-depth look.
Student profile from Hall Pass
You can now tap a student directly from the hall pass dashboard to open their full profile, instead of navigating there separately.
Per class hall pass limits
Configured by your schools admin team, Minga now enforces a limit on how many students can be out of any class at once, automatically. You don't have to track it or say no yourself; once the limit is reached, additional pass requests are denied or added to the Hall Pass Queue.*
*(Plus and Premium plans only)
Refer to the Hall Pass Queue: Managing Hallway Waitlists Automatically for a walkthrough from a Teacher and Student perspective.
👌 Good to Know: This is a feature your Owner (Minga Admin at your school) configures school-wide. Ask your school Admin if you're not sure whether it's active for your class.
MyClass
No Party groups for Class Groups
You can now generate randomized student groups right from My Class in a couple of clicks. Set No Party Groups to automatically keep specific students apart, save groups for ongoing projects, and share them with other staff who have access to the same class list.
Drag and Drop Students
An update landed in March: once you've generated groups, you can drag and drop students between groups instead of regenerating from scratch. This useful when a student is absent or a group just isn't working.
Learn more in the Create Class Groups section of Teachers' Guide to My Class.
👌 Good to Know: This feature was originally called the Random Group Generator. You'll see it referred to as Class Groups in the app going forward.
User list selection
You can now favorite your class lists so they pin to the top in My Class, making it faster to find the list you use most.
FlexTime Enrollment View
You can now see exactly where each of your students is enrolled for upcoming FlexTime sessions, right from My Class. Students who aren't enrolled anywhere are flagged clearly, so you can catch them before the period starts instead of finding out after.
Learn more in Viewing FlexTime Enrollment.
Positive Behavior/ Negative Behavior & Consequences
Back date behaviors
You can now log a behavior for a past date and time instead of only in the moment it happened. When you're logging a behavior in My Class or My Tools, you can adjust the date and time for when you would like the behavior to be recorded for.
For a step-by-step guide, refer to Manually Assign Praise and Guidance Behaviors.
👌 Good to Know: The record is dated to when the incident actually happened, not when you log it. This keeps reports accurate even if you log at the end of the day instead of mid-class.
FAQs
FAQs
Why don't I see some of these features in my Minga account?
You can't see some of these features because a few are gated by subscription plan. Hall Pass Queue requires the Plus or Premium plan. If a feature listed here isn't showing up in your account, ask your school's Owner or Manager to confirm your plan level.
Do I need to do anything to get these updates?
You don't need to do anything to get these updates. All of the features listed here are automatically available in your account once your school is on the required plan and release version, there's nothing to install or turn on yourself.
