With Events in Minga you will see where all your school's activities live, pep rallies, dances, club meetings, game days, and more. When your school adds an event, it shows up on your Calendar and Main Feed so you always know what's coming up.
This article walks you through finding events, responding to invites, letting your school know if you're coming, and checking yourself in when you arrive.
Permission Level Required: Student
đĄ Good to Know: Your Calendar only shows events relevant to you. If an event is limited to specific grades, groups, or invited students, it will not appear on your Calendar unless you are included.

Finding events in the Calendar and Main Feed
There are a few places you can find school events: the Calendar and the Main Feed. Both show the events that you are invited to or able to attend.
Step-by-step guide to Finding Events
Navigate to Calendar in the main menu.
The Calendar shows your upcoming events. If your school uses Bell Schedule or FlexTime, those also appear here.
Click the gear icon in the top right corner to open your Calendar settings.
Confirm Show events is toggled on. If it is off, events will not appear on your Calendar.
Alternatively, scroll through the Main Feed to find event posts. Schools typically post events here starting 7 days before they happen.
Click any event listing to open its full details.
Responding to an event invite
Some event organizers will send direct invites to you instead of you finding the events on your own. If you're invited to an event, Minga notifies you the next time you log in with a burst of confetti đ
Here is how you can respond to an Event invite to let the teacher organizing it know you plan to attend.
Step-by-step guide to responding to an Event invite
Navigate to the bell icon in the top right corner.
Click the notification to open the event's full details.
The event details include the date, time, location, and description.
Show your intent to attend or not by selecting 'Going,' 'Maybe, or 'Can't Go.'
Marking your RSVP status
If the person who created the event turned on RSVP tracking, you can let them know whether you're planning to attend.
Step-by-step guide to RSVPing to Events
From the event details page, select Going, Maybe, or Can't Go.
If the event does not have RSVP tracking enabled, you will not see these options. You can still view the event details.
Return to the event details at any time before the event to change your response by selecting a different option.
đ Tip: Selecting Going or Maybe helps your teachers and event organizers plan for supplies, seating, and staffing â even a quick response is useful.
Checking in to an event
Checking in confirms you actually attended the event. It's worth making sure you're checked in, in some cases, you might even earn points.
Event check in is most often done with a scanner by a teacher or staff member at your school. You'll need your ID or number. In some cases, you might be able to check yourself in with a QR code. Here is how to do that
Step-by-step guide to Self Check In for Events
Navigate to My Tools in the main menu.
Select Self Check In.
Scan the QR code posted at the event using your device's camera.
â ď¸ Note: Self check in is only available if the event organizer enabled it. If you don't see a QR code posted at the event, a teacher or staff member will check you in instead by scanning your Digital ID. You do not need to do anything beyond presenting your Digital ID.

Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting
I don't see an event on my Calendar that I know is happening.
If an event you know about is not appearing on your Calendar, first confirm Show events is toggled on in your Calendar settings. If it's already on, the event may be limited to specific grades, groups, or invited students who don't include you. Check with the teacher or staff member running the event to confirm you're included.
I can't find a QR code to check myself in to an event.
If there is no QR code posted at the event for self check-in, the event organizer has not enabled self check-in for this event. Find a teacher or staff member at the event and they will check you in by scanning your Digital ID instead.
FAQs
FAQs
What happens if I don't respond to an event invite?
If you don't respond to an event invite, you won't have an RSVP status recorded and the event organizer won't know whether to expect you. You can still attend and check in to the event even without responding to the invite.
Can I change my RSVP after I select it?
You can change your RSVP status by returning to the event details before the event starts and selecting a different option: Going, Maybe, or Can't Go.
Do I need a ticket to check in to an event?
You only need a ticket to check in if the event organizer set the event up as a ticketed event. If the event isn't ticketed, you can check in without a ticket.
Why can't I see all the events happening at my school?
You can only see events that are relevant to you on your Calendar and Main Feed. If an event is limited to specific grades, groups, or invited students and you aren't included, it will not appear for you.
What if there's no QR code for me to scan at an event?
If there's no QR code for you to scan, the event organizer hasn't enabled self check-in for that event. A teacher or staff member will check you in by scanning your Digital ID instead.
