FlexTime periods give you a say in how you spend part of your school day. Instead of a fixed class, you choose an activity that fits what you need: extra help, a club, or a study block. This article walks you through finding an open activity, registering for it, and changing your mind if you need to. By the end, you will know exactly how to lock in your spot for an upcoming FlexTime period.
Permission Level Required: Student
⚠️ Note: Some FlexTime periods do not allow self-registration. If a teacher, counselor, or Admin has already assigned you to an activity for a specific period, you will not see a Register option for that period, only the activity to which you have been assigned.

Finding and registering to FlexTime activities
Every FlexTime period has its own set of activities. Teachers run some, some are academic support sessions, and some are open enrichment or club time.
Step-by-step guide
Step-by-step guide
Navigate to the FlexTime tab within My Tools.
This page shows all upcoming Flex periods available to you.
Click the Register button next to the period you wish to join.
Select the Activity you want to join from the list of options.
You will see the name of the teacher, the location, and how many seats are left.
Optional: You can search by Activity name or select a specific Teacher from the Teacher dropdown menu.
View the confirmation message to ensure your registration was successful.
⚠️ Note: If an activity reaches its seat limit before you register, it displays as FULL and you cannot select it. Choose a different activity, or check back later in case a seat opens up.
✅ Outcome: You are registered for the activity. It now appears on your schedule for that FlexTime period, and the activity's remaining seat count decreases by one.
Changing or canceling your registration
Plans change. If you register for an activity and later want to switch it, you can do so before the period starts and before the registration deadline has passed.
Step-by-step guide
Step-by-step guide
Navigate to the FlexTime tab in My Tools and select the period with your existing registration.
The activity you registered for is displayed and shows Registered.
Click the activity you are currently registered for and select Change.
Dropping the activity returns your seat to the activity's available count and removes it from your schedule.
Select a new activity and register for the new activity.
⚠️ Note: Once you have registered for an activity you cannot cancel a registration or 'drop' an activity without selecting a different activity.
✅ Outcome: Your new activity will show in your dashboard and on your schedule.
What happens on the day of the activity
Registering ahead of time secures your seat, but you still need to check in when the period begins.
To check into a FlexTime activity through a kiosk, enter your student number into the kiosk and press enter.
Step-by-step guide
Step-by-step guide
Go to your assigned activity location at the start of the FlexTime period.
Check in using the method your school has set up: kiosk, barcode scanner from a teacher, or by letting the activity teacher know verbally.
Wait for your teacher to confirm your attendance, if your school uses teacher-led check-in.
If you registered for an activity but do not check in, your teacher will see you listed as absent for that period, and your attendance record will reflect that you did not attend.
✅ Outcome: You are checked in to your registered activity, and your attendance is recorded for that FlexTime period.
Additional settings
Some schools limit self-registration to certain FlexTime periods and use direct assignment for others, such as mandatory intervention sessions. If your school does this, periods that do not allow self-registration will not show a Register option. Contact your teacher or school Admin if you believe you should have access to register for a period and do not see that option.

Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting
A FlexTime activity shows as full and the Register button is unavailable.
If an activity displays as FULL, it has reached its seat limit and you cannot register for it. Select a different activity from the list, or check back before the period starts in case another student cancels their registration and a seat opens up.
A previously registered activity no longer appears on the schedule.
If an activity you registered for no longer appears on your schedule, check with your teacher to see if you have been removed or assigned to a different activity for that period.
